Our Social Media Policy

As part of our ever-expanding outreach efforts, NADF has embraced Facebook and Twitter as a means to connect and engage with our community. This page provides guidelines on how you can expect to communicate with NADF on both sites. If you have any concerns regarding our policies, please contact Ade Sekudo  immediately at 1-800-465-6821. Our Facebook Page Usage Policy

We welcome you and your comments to our NADF Facebook Page.

The purpose of our Facebook page is to present matters of public interest to Aboriginal entrepreneurs in Northern Ontario, including its many residents, businesses and visitors. We encourage you to submit your questions, comments, and concerns, but please note this is a moderated online discussion site and NOT a public forum.

Once posted, NADF reserves the right to delete submissions that contain vulgar language, personal attacks of any kind, or offensive comments that target or disparage any ethnic, racial, or religious group. Further, NADF also reserves the right to delete comments that are:

(i) Spam or include links to other sites;

(ii) Clearly off topic;

(iii) Advocate illegal activity;

(iv) Promote particular services, products, or political organizations;

(v) Infringe on copyrights or trademarks;

(vi) Use personally identifiable medical information; We recommend you not share any of your medical information on our Facebook Pages.

Please note that the comments expressed on our Facebook page do not reflect the opinions and position of NADF, its employees, or clients. Our Twitter Policy

You are most welcome to our NADF Twitter page.

The NADF Twitter account is managed by our Marketing & Communications Team, on behalf of our organization.

We may occasionally use some automation (such as tools which generate tweets from RSS feeds) but intend that this will not dominate the messages posted.

If you follow us, you can expect between 1-2 tweets a day covering some or all of the following:

  • Alerts to NADF related events, meetings, consultation, job vacancies and promotional offers etc
  • News on Aboriginal business, economic development and/or entrepreneurship in Northern Ontario, Ontario, and Canada
  • Alerts about new content on our other digital channels (news, publications, website, publicity campaigns etc)
  • Invitations to provide feedback on specific issues on which we are consulting
  • Occasional live coverage of events (e.g. video conference workshops, Annual business awards & golf tournament etc.)

Following

If you follow us on Twitter we will not automatically follow you back. This is to avoid resource wasting spam handling and so that you can easily identify other key Twitter users that you might be interested in. However, being followed by us does not imply endorsement of any kind.

Availability

We will update and monitor our Twitter account during office hours (9am-5pm EST), Monday through Friday excluding holidays.
Twitter may occasionally be unavailable and we accept no responsibility for lack of service due to Twitter downtime.

@Replies and Direct Messages

  • We welcome feedback and ideas from all our followers (as long as it is not vulgar, advocating illegal activity, and free of personal attacks and disparaging remarks towards any race, ethnic or religious groups), and endeavor to join the conversation where possible. However, we are not able to reply individually to all the messages we receive via Twitter.
  • The Marketing & Communications team reads all @replies and Direct Messages and ensures that any emerging themes or helpful suggestions are passed to the relevant people in NADF.
  • We refrain from engaging in issues of politics and religion, and we recommend similar restraint from our followers on our Twitter page.
    The usual ways of contacting us for official correspondence can be found in the contact us section of our website.
