Makwa Security Services is a 100% Indigenous owned security company founded by Fort William First Nation member, Cheryl St James, an experienced security guard and entrepreneur. Located in Fort William First Nation the company will provide security guards, prevention of unauthorized activity or entry in a specified perimeter, traffic regulation, access control, and fore and theft prevention and detection, security advisory and consultancy services, roving patrol and investigation services. The business will serve the construction and mining industry utilizing Indigenous guards in the catchment area of each client. Makwa Security Services will grow its employee base of security guards carefully, based on client contracts with an emphasis on a First Nation employment pool in the select catchment area of each mine. Employees will be hand-picked and trained to an expert level in mine and construction security, advanced first aid training and loss control expertise. Makwa Security Services will work hard to meet and surpass our clients expectations and will at all times demonstrate a commitment to sustainability by actively participating in our communities and integrating sustainable business practices wherever possible.
