Connecting Indigenous Businesses to Customers Online

The E-Commerce Grant Program supports Indigenous entrepreneurs who are ready to strengthen their online presence and grow their business through digital sales. Whether you are building an e-commerce platform for the first time or improving an existing one, this program helps reduce the cost of going online and reaching new customers.

The program supports practical e-commerce activities that help businesses operate more efficiently, improve customer experience, and expand into new markets.

Program funding is provided by the Ministry of Indigenous Affairs Ontario.

What is An E-Commerce Grant?

An e-commerce grant is non-repayable funding that helps businesses sell goods or services online. It can support the development or improvement of digital tools such as online stores, booking systems, payment options, and other technology needed to operate and grow an online business.

The e-commerce grant helps reduce the cost of going digital and supports Indigenous businesses by offering

  • Up to $8,000 in non-repayable funding
  • One-time grant opportunity
  • Supports e-commerce development, training, marketing, and digital tools

Applicant Eligibility

You may be eligible to apply for an e-commerce grant if you are:

  • An Indigenous entrepreneur or majority Indigenous-owned business
  • Operate a for-profit business, including sole proprietorships, partnerships, or corporations
  • Operate within Treaty 9, Treaty 3, Robinson-Superior 1850, or the Ontario portion of Treaty 5
